Enrichment Programs

Treatment for childhood cancer often prevents children from going to school or seeing friends for long periods of time. But there are a number of organizations here in Connecticut that provide fun, safe activities that give patients and parents something to look forward to and bring moments of joy in the midst of this most difficult time.

  • Camp Rising Sun welcomes any child aged 5-17 who has faced a diagnosis of cancer to a week of fun and friendship. Campers can be in treatment, in remission, or anywhere in between. Thanks to our generous supporters there is no cost to attend camp.

  • Programs include family events and “Art from the Heart” room makeovers.

  • Special programs include family activities, snack bags, hospital meals, holiday adopt a family, and hospital meal vouchers.

  • Make-A-Wish grants the wishes to children with life threatening diseases from 2 ½ year olds – 18 year olds living in all CT counties.

  • Special Wishes supports terminally ill children by giving a last special wish. Services are provided to children ages 3-21.

  • Team Impact connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes.
